FRCC Girls Cross Country History
The Fox River Classic Conference came into existence in the 2007 school year. The Conference brought together the eight members of the Fox River Valley Conference and added four teams from the Bay Conference to form the twelve member FRCC.
Fox River Valley Conference members: Green Bay East, Green Bay Preble, Green Bay Southwest, Green Bay West, Notre Dame Academy, Manitowoc Lincoln, Sheboygan North and Sheboygan South.
Bay Conference members: Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, De Pere and Pulaski.
This configuration of schools made up the Conference until the 2015 school year when Green Bay East and Green Bay West left the FRCC to join the Bay Conference, bringing the Conference to its current ten team make-up.
The Cross Country Conference Champion has been and continues to be determined solely at Conference Championship meet. Notre Dame Academy has the most titles claiming eight Championships since the inception of the FRCC. The Tritons also won five consecutive conference championships from 2012 to 2016. They were able to carry that success to the WIAA State meet held at the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids finishing runner-up in Division 2 in 2012 and 2013 and winning the Division 2 title in 2014. The Notre Dame girls are the only FRCC School to have won a State Team Championship at the WIAA State Cross Country Meet.
Bay Port has the next most titles with five, winning the first five Conference meets. Bay Port won their last title in 2011.
De Pere claimed two titles in 2018 and 2019. The Redbirds were the unofficial conference champions in 2020 because the conference did not recognize a champion during the Covid years.
Pulaski (2017) and Green Bay Preble (2024) have each won one Championship.
From 2007 to 2013 while a twelve team conference the FRCC also held a West Division and an East Division meet which was held the week before the conference meet. In the West Division, Bay Port laid claim to all seven titles contested. In the East Division it was Green Bay Preble who claimed four titles. De Pere, Green Bay East and Sheboygan North had one title each.
The lone FRCC State Individual Cross Country Champion for the girls is Allie Woodward of Notre Dame Academy who won the Division 2 State Championship in 2010.
