The Fox River Classic Conference began competing in 2007 when the eight schools of the former Fox River Valley Conference were joined by four schools from the Bay Conference forming a twelve team league.
Schools of the Fox River Valley: Green Bay East, Green Bay Preble, Green Bay Southwest, Green Bay West, Manitowoc Lincoln, Notre Dame Academy, Sheboygan North and Sheboygan South.
Bay Conference Schools: Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, De Pere and Pulaski.
From the 2008 through 2015 seasons the league was split into an East and West Division.
- East Division: De Pere, Green Bay Preble, Green Bay East, Manitowoc Lincoln, Sheboygan North, Sheboygan South
- West Division: Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, Green Bay West, Green Bay Southwest, Notre Dame Academy, Pulaski
During this divisional format, in the sport of softball, teams would play each team in their division twice and teams from the other division once in conference play. Green Bay East and Green Bay West moved to the Bay Conference in the 2015/16 school year bringing the FRCC to its current configuration of 10 teams. Starting with the 2016 season, the FRCC played a double round robin schedule for conference play.
Starting with the 2026 softball season West De Pere will join the FRCC, replacing Sheboygan South.
FRCC Softball has been dominated by four teams. Ashwaubenon, Bay Port and Pulaski all have 4 titles with Green Bay Preble laying claim to 5. The title has been shared only one time and that was in the inaugural season of the FRCC when Ashwaubenon and Pulaski finished with 15-1 records.
FRCC teams have qualified for the WIAA State Softball Tournament three times since the formation of the conference and all three made it to the semi-final round. Bay Port in 2015 and Pulaski in 2016 and 2019.
