Girls Swim and Dive History Narrative
The Fox River Classic Conference came into existence in the 2007 school year. The Conference brought together the eight members of the Fox River Valley Conference and added four teams from the Bay Conference to form the twelve member FRCC.
Fox River Valley Conference members: Green Bay East, Green Bay Preble, Green Bay Southwest, Green Bay West, Notre Dame Academy, Manitowoc Lincoln, Sheboygan North and Sheboygan South.
Bay Conference members: Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, De Pere and Pulaski.
This configuration of schools made up the Conference until the 2015 school year when Green Bay East and Green Bay West left the FRCC to join the Bay Conference, bringing the FRCC to its current ten team make-up.
At it’s inception in 2007 through 2013, nine FRCC programs competed in Swim and Dive. Green Bay East and Green Bay Preble combined as a program and Green Bay Southwest and Green Bay West also combined as a program. Notre Dame Academy did not sponsor a swimming program.
In 2014 the four Green Bay Schools combined to form a single swim and dive program (Green Bay United) bringing the number of FRCC girls swim and dive programs to eight. FRCC Girls Swim and Dive remained at eight programs through the 2021 season and in 2022 Notre Dame Academy began to sponsor girls swimming.
Girls Swim and Dive has a dual meet season, but the Conference Champion is determined by the results of the end of season conference meet.
More changes will take place starting in 2024 when Sheboygan North and Sheboygan South will combine to form one team. This will bring the conference to seven teams who will compete in a dual meet season. Notre Dame currently only competes in the Conference Meet as they look to build their numbers.
The Bay Port Pirates have dominated the FRCC Girls Swim and Dive scene having won twelve of the sixteen titles contested in the Conference. (no conference champion was recognized during 2020 because of the Covid Pandemic). Ashwaubenon has won two titles and Sheboygan North and Green Bay East/Preble have one title each.
All of the FRCC swim and dive programs compete at the Division 1 level with the exception of Ashwaubenon who competes in Division 2. The Jaguars have nine Division 2 Sectional Titles to their name.
Bay Port claims the lone State Championship in Girls Swim and Dive having won that Championship during the alternate spring season held in 2020/21 because of the Covid Pandemic.
The FRCC has had numerous individual State Champions in Girls Swim and Dive. They include:
