Bay Port Wins 9th Consecutive FRCC Boys Swim and Dive Title

The Bay Port Pirates won their 9th consecutive (13th overall) FRCC Boys Swim and Dive Championship held over the weekend at Lineville Intermediate School.  The Pirates dominated the meet, placing 1st in 7 of the 12 events.  In addition, Bay Port placed in the top three in every event except diving, swept the top 3 spots in the 200yd Individual Medley and had two top three finishes in 8 events.  The Pirates finished with 657.5 points while runner-up Sheboygan North tallied 389.5.

Multiple winners for the Pirates included senior Luka Azzolina with four 1st place finishes (200yd Individual Medley, 200yd Medley Relay, 100yd Backstroke and 400yd Free Relay) Junior Bennett Daul (100yd Breaststroke and 200yd Medley Relay) Junior Caleb Bartolazzi (200yd Medley Relay and 200yd free relay) senior Toby Beatty (200yd Medley Relay, 50yd Free and 200yd Free Relay) Sophomore Carter Tebon (100yd Free, 200yd Free Relay and 400yd Free Relay) Junior Griffin Schilz (200yd Free Relay and 400yd Free Relay).

Sophomore Aadin Terrazas of Sheboygan North took home 1st place medals for the 200yd Free and 500yd Free.  Aadin was selected as the Swimmer of the year by the coaches and he was the only swimmer to set a new FRCC record at the meet.  Terrazas swam the 500 Free in 4:42.75 besting the old record of 4:47.35 set in 2022 by Ozan Kalafat of Bay Port.

The remaining event winners were senior Ryan Jadin of Ashwaubenon in the 50yd Free, tying for 1st place with Toby Beatty of Bay Port.  Junior Griffin Pond of Sheboygan North claimed the gold in the 100yd Butterfly and Jesus Guadalupe-Ramey – Sheboygan South – won the Diving competition.

Bennett Daul – Bay Port – defended his 100yd Breaststroke title from a year ago while Aadin Terrazas – Sheboygan North – defended his 500 Free title.  Terrazas also won the 50 free as a freshman a year ago, but did not defend that title in this year’s meet.

Next up for the swimmers is the WIAA Sectional Swim meet which will be held this weekend.  Diving will take place on Friday Night, while swimming competition will take place on Saturday.  Bay Port, Green Bay United, Manitowoc, Sheboygan North and Sheboygan South will compete in Division 1 at the Neenah Sectional.  Ashwaubenon, Notre Dame Academy and Pulaski will compete at the Division 2 Ashwaubenon Sectional.  Bay Port is the defending Champion at the Neenah Sectional while Ashwaubenon finished as the runner-up at the Division 2 Sectional last year.

All-Conference Teams are Determined by finish in the Conference Meet. First Place = 1st team, Second Place = 2nd team and Third Place = Honorable Mention.
