FRCC Girls Golf Champion to be Crowned Thursday

The Fox River Classic Conference Girls Golf season concludes on Thursday, September 26 at Wander Springs Golf Course. Bay Port is currently in 1st place in the conference and will look to hold on to the top spot. The FRCC competes in six meets over the course of the season including this final meet held at Wander Springs. The points earned by place finish in each of the FRCC conference meets are doubled in the final Conference meet. Going into the meet at Wander Springs Bay Port leads with 34 points, De Pere has earned 31 points and Sheboygan sits in third at 23. Bay Port has won four of the five meets contested thus far with De Pere winning the other. Currently holding a three point lead over De Pere in the standings, a top two finish in the conference meet will guarantee the Pirates their seventh* consecutive FRCC Championship. If Bay Port would finish third or lower in the Conference Meet and De Pere finishes two or more spots ahead of Bay Port, then De Pere would claim the championship.

Overall, Notre Dame Academy has won nine championships, Bay Port has won six* and De Pere and Sheboygan have one title each. You can read about the history of Girls Golf at the following link: FRCC Girls Golf History

All-Conference Honors are also determined at the conclusion of Thursday’s Conference Meet at Wander Springs. The top six golfers are declared 1st team, the next six golfer earn 2nd team honors and the third group of six golfers are 3rd team. Emma Cunningham of the Green Bay Preble Co-op who is the current reigning golfer of the year in FRCC is again holding the top spot going into the final meet with an average 9-hole score of 40. Nine other returning golfers from last year’s all-conference teams are currently in the top 18 averages for this year and have a chance of repeating as all-conference players in 2024. They Include:
